Featured in Trade Republic's 2025 Promotions
You don’t often see your own name in a company post that hits well over a hundred thousand feeds. Trade Republic did their 2025 promotions on LinkedIn, and I was in that carousel.
The post
The wording was classic TR energy: customers, assets, the team behind it all, then a thank-you. I happened to be second in the featured image. Nice screenshot moment.
What I’m actually taking from it
I’m proud of it, but I’m not pretending it dropped from the sky. It sits on years of learning how this place works, including as someone the playbook wasn’t really written for.
Trade Republic isn’t a quiet corner shop. Millions of customers, serious assets on the platform, and a pace where “fine” doesn’t stay fine for long. Getting here took the job skills, yes, but also learning the culture, operating in German at work, and showing up when the path looked messy.
Why the mission stuck with me
The product story is simple to say: open up investing for people who were priced out before. Being inside that, with people who mean it, feels different from jobs where you’re just shipping tickets.
Also: hundreds of people in one direction, all kinds of backgrounds. That doesn’t happen by accident.
The bit I don’t want to skip
I’ve done long shifts in fast food wondering if moving to Germany was a mistake. Now my face is in a company shout-out next to work that touches a huge audience. I say that because it’s useful, not because I need a speech.
Start point doesn’t lock your finish. What you get good at, including the soft stuff, opens doors you can’t map in advance. Keep at it long enough and it compounds.
After the post
A promotion line on LinkedIn isn’t the finish line. For me it’s a push to keep earning the seat: ship solid work, help the team, grow with what we’re building.
If you’re in the grind part of your own story: stay in it. Stack real skills. Pick places that stretch you. Recognition often shows up when you’re busy doing the work, not posing for it.
